Update since I cant reply directly to the salons response: 1. I've attached the screenshot showing people that yes, I did ask for the refund although I was still disappointed in the ridiculous amount, but was ghosted. £5 for a £120 treatment that didnt last 2 seperate people 7 days is ridiculous. £5 wouldn't even cover the bus fair for the first time you had to fix my nails. 2. We already came back to the salon once, we could not keep making return trips for the many issues with both of our nails. As you can see in the screenshot I was very gracious with suggesting that it may have been an issue with the product. 3. No. No you didnt tell me about the chrome until the nails were already cured. I'm genuinely so baffled I've had to post this because yes, you really do have so many great reviews and repeat customers happy with the salon. But it's fair to warn people that if things do go wrong there will be no financial recourse, and that can be very disappointing. . This was the first time either of us had been to this salon and i booked it as a birthday treat for my girlfriend with my getting a design too. All the reviews looked great. I was okay with the price, but was later told by multiple people that my partner and I should not have been charged the same price considering she had full acrylics and I just had polish. Paid £59 each. Things seemed fine but we noticed a lot of issues after. I wanted a design with metallic tips and wasnt told till after they were finished that they would be very delicate and likely to get damaged. If I had been told ahead of time I never would have picked that design. I had to go back to the salon a day later because the tips hadn't cured properly, but even after that the ends peeled off within 7 days. Within a week the gel had all peeled up from the bottoms and sides of the nail too. My partner got gel extension, and within 7 days a huge chunk from one of her thumbs peeled up and dropped off, and she also had peeling at the sides of the nails. When we got them redone elsewhere a number of other issues were brought up. They were too domed in the middle, and just not smoothly applied. I had noticed this right after but honestly we were both trying to put on a brave face because of the price and my partner and I are both very anxious so didnt want it to end in a confrontation. After the peeling, I messaged the salon and they offered for us to come in and get the thumb fixed, but we were on holiday and even if we weren't we'd lost trust by this stage and didnt want to go back. I said we couldnt come back and would just like a portion of what we were charged back so we get our nails removed somewhere else. We were offered £5, which for a nearly £120 service that didnt even last 7 days is ridiculous. I said that didnt feel like enough and explained how let down I felt, and was instead offered 25% off our next appointment, but we are not comfortable giving more of our money to this salon. I decided to take £5 originally offered but when I asked I got fully ghosted. The main issue here was the unwillingness to just accept that some sort of mistake had been made from what I hope was just an off day. Its also an iffy sign that they only accept bank transfer which cannot be disputed as a business payment, so if you go to this salon be aware that you have no financial recourse or protection if your £120 nails start falling off at 7 days. I really think I've been reasonable here. I never expected a full refund. Not even half would still have allowed us to get the issue fixed elsewhere when we couldnt return and feels very reasonable to ask considering the sheer number of issues we had even after one return visit for a fix. So take this as a warning. Its so frustrating that I have to post this as like I said, from other reviews it seems like theyre usually pretty good. But if they're not, you have to accept the risk and don't expect any compensation for shoddy work. I've attached some pictures, I really wish I'd taken more of the other issues but the peeling is clear.
